Oh what a fun year it has been! Every year just seems to get better and better! We’ve had the joy of being a part of 27 weddings with 27 sweet couples! You’ve seen all the polished pretty photos, but we’ve been holding out to share these hilarious behind the scenes photos! If you need a good laugh, you’ve come to the right spot! Also, a huge shout out to all our amazing second shooters this year – Wesley, Javier, Jojo, Meggie, Jessica, Trisha, Hannah, Brennan, and Elisabeth – y’all were amazing and helped us capture many of these gems!

Starting off with a little known fact: If you’re lucky, Tyler may model one of your accessories for you.

And what may be the best series of the post…

Tyler’s quickly become known for standing in as my test bride and working our favorite bridal poses – meanwhile I just die laughing! You’re welcome.

But do y’all remember Courtney’s creek bridals? SUCH a fun memory for this year! It all started with Tyler saying, “I have a crazy idea, do you trust me?”

And ended with us crossing a creek with bride in tow and climbing a muddy wall. But it was worth it for the shot! ;)

At Katie’s bridal session, we discovered this random EPIC sign so of course we had to take pictures with it!

And we’d be lying if we didn’t say proposals are our favorite!! We get to hide in some crazy places!

And Tyler, standing in again, makes a pretty cute surprised bride to be!

Aaaannd sometimes I get just as excited as the girl!

But one of the things I’ve been dying to share is this series of cake cutting photos.

Tyler always cracks me up when he stands in for me to test the light before the cake cutting. It’s now become our running joke to make the most awkward or guilty looking faces as if we were planning to secretly cut into the cake! This is the photo that started it all at Katie and Ron’s wedding, and I think it’s because Tyler reeeaaaally wanted to hold Ron’s sword! Haha!

Prepping the grooms before their first look! This is one of my favorite things that we get to do on a wedding day. After being escorted to their place and told where to stand, understandably most people start to feel nervous about whether or not they’ll do the right thing or react in the right way. We always tell our couples to slow down, enjoy the moment, that it’s THEIR moment, not ours, and to soak it in.

And soak it in they do!

You know you’re committed to the shot when:

it requires climbing a wall

a wall sit in a tight corner

or means you’ll be climbing in mud!

 

There was the time Scrappy showed up at Kristin and Mike’s wedding! For those uninitiated, Scrappy is the UNT mascot, which is our alma mater!

And then there’s always the ridiculous outtakes we can’t explain.

He’s “testing the light.”

Clearly some inspirational words were being shared here. Jenny was touched. William wasn’t so sure though.

Hi, my name’s Lindsey, and I like laughing. Laughing’s my favorite.

I’ve also been known to jump on the dance floor for a good 90’s jam! So you’ve been warned. If you play Backstreet Boys, I will have to dance!

Tyler is always so helpful! He’s the best bag carrier, toy holder, kid chaser, lighting assistant, and dress assistant! And dog trainer…okay maybe not that last one!

That moment when you realize you got EXACTLY the shot you wanted!

And finally, we had such a great time on our styled shoot recently with Kari Ellen Events and this amazing team. It was such a rainy day but everyone came together to make it happen, and it was amazing!

We wanted a romantic shot with the couple in a boat, so we had gotten a boat, but it didn’t come with any oars. Needless to say, the boat kept floating around out of where we wanted it, so Kari had to jump in the boat and pop up every time we needed it turned! And this was all we had to steer it.

Our model Hannah wasn’t so sure about the method, but it worked!
